It’s coming down to the wire: a mere week from tomorrow morning, we start driving to Florida for Mega-Con. It’s our first trip to this particular convention, our first con outside the upper Midwest area, and our first big road-trip together. We’re really looking forward to it and really not at the same time - I mean, that’s a long-ass drive! So we are officially trying to get our poop in a group.
Lucky for us, Comf’s little sister (Sunshine ‘Sunny’ Love) has offered to loan us her laptop to use over the trip, so we’ll at least be able to do some writing. Hopefully net access won’t be too much trouble, but there’s no way to be sure. Yes, we’ve never had to deal with wireless internet connections before. We are technological neophytes - we use our cell-phones for *gasp* calling people on the phone; we have computers you plug in, X-Box is as ‘next gen’ as we’ll get for years to come, we have no television channels, let alone cable or TiVo, and we don’t have any iStuff.
Y’know what? We get along just grandly. Our knuckles don’t drag on the ground, we’ve discovered no gaping holes in our social or personal lives, and we’re pretty happy. Kids these days…
One of the things we’re working on is putting pages together for our 2007 Convention Sketchbook. Below is one of Comf’s pages, featuring her rough process for Supergirl Christmas and Scarlet Witch September. This is generally the kind of stuff you’d see in our book along with random drawings from our actual sketchbooks. Con Sketchbooks tend to be pretty popular with people, and we try to cram ours with butt-loads of content.

--Today’s Tidbits--
Michigan in the Winter is both beautiful and terrible to behold. This is literally what it looks like outside our window, today.
Yeah, Obi looks pretty content to just relax in the warmth of the indoors, for once. And we told that poor fellow on the riding-beast outside that he should get home - the temperature’s dropping too fast, and his Tauntaun’ll freeze to death before he reaches the next marker.
Schools have been closed all week, and the mail didn’t even run on Saturday. Can you believe? The MAIL didn’t run! Whatever happened to ‘Through rain, sleet, snow or slush’ or whatever? C’mon!
Got a CD in the mail yesterday with the contents of what could be our next job. We’d actually just be colorists, which is a first for us, but it isn’t a bad thing. It’s far, far more work than we had anticipated from them, but if we get the job it’ll take care of us for the couple months of staring at our monitors such a task would take. We’ll keep you updated on how that goes, and preview more of our work with that client as they allow.
Anyhow, that’s all for today. Tomorrow we get new comics, and cross our fingers it’ll be more than one issue.
Till then-
Adam & Comfort
