Today we’re taking a look at the cover for Uniques #7. Final pencils were finished yesterday:

This time around, Adam’s doing the cover. Usually, he takes lead pencils and Comf does the cover, but for #7 we’re flipping this piece around. Another coincidence is that issue 5’s cover was a layout Adam had in his head and Comfort had to draw, while this issue’s homage to Norman Rockwell’s ‘Thanksgiving’ was Comfy’s idea.
Early on, while we were still just in the scripting stage and had yet to put pencil to paper on issue #1, Comf had this idea as the cover to an issue built around a barbecue the gang has at the end of their first summer together. The debacle with the Goth Girls is behind them, they’ve had some more time on the streets together, and they take a night to relax and enjoy themselves. There's also the introduction of Motherboard's gang, the "Nerd Patrol." Remember her D&D gaming group mentioned in #3? And that "Ray" guy talked about in #5? Well, be prepared to meet them all. In fact - that's them on the cover sitting around the table with the rest of the team!
We also debut the new and improved team headquarters, a trio of hapless villains we lovingly call ‘The Gamers Three’ (you can let your imagination run on that one for a while) and the mysterious plotting of the Man in Shadows builds further.
There’s actually a lot of ground laid in this issue. We’re nearing the end of all pencils, a lot of the flats are in and corrected, and we’ll be starting final color really soon. You can still expect Uniques #7 for a June release.
We’ll be back next week for more. See you then! -Adam & Comfort
