Today is all about the T side of the coin with two boobielicious renderings of some of the most busty ladies in comicdom. First up is Adam’s color version of Power Girl and Supergirl, a commission for Hitoshi Amao. This was Adam’s grand ‘let’s see if I can just paint clouds by hand from scratch’ experiment, and after much hollering and expletives, he figured something out. The pic actually began its life as a Wonder Woman/Wonder Girl piece for our quasi-calendar stuff (they were the July image), but when Hitoshi requested Power Girl/Supergirl, the pose and composition just seemed right. Thus, the rough was scrapped and refitted for these two lovely ladies. Second is Comfort’s Ghost piece. Ghost is an original character of Adam Hughes’, and even though she didn’t read the comics when she was younger, she remembers always looking through them in awe before she put them away while working at Blue Chips Comics in the late 90’s. When Hitoshi asked for a commission of the character, Comfie jumped at the chance to try her hand at it, hoping she could do the character justice. Ghost, in a roundabout way, is kinda like a female version of Will Eisner's ‘Spirit,’ and Comf couldn’t see setting her anywhere but in a graveyard. Usually, Comfort does a decent set of thumbnails before she settles on a pose for a character, but this one fell right into place when she drew it up, deciding on that slightly mysterious underlit light source. Light and color are very important to her, and she’s always noting and thinking about it when she, colors, draws, and even writes. The color of the light was originally intended to be a ghostly green, but she decided to stick with the warm white to because the initial color turned out so beautifully to begin with, that it didn’t need an extreme color change. --Today’s Tidbits-- We’re getting the last of the Hitoshi commissions out of the way, and with Ghost done that means only Ms. Marvel remains. We are also working on a set of new illustrations for Palladium Books for a future issue of ‘The Rifter.’ Mostly, it’s nice to take a break from the Stormbringers project for a day and work on other things before getting back to it tomorrow. Tonight, Comfort finishes her last adult class of this session, and Saturday we finish up the last kids’ class. Of course, since we had a snow day earlier in the period, we don’t get any break between this session of classes and the next, so next week we jump right into the fire again. For some unknown reason, they decided to have Comfort teaching on Wednesday nights for these couple sessions, so she’s been gone for most of the night every New Comic Day. It just ain’t right, says we - couples shouldn’t have to be separated on such an important day. Anyway, we’ll be back soon with more stuff. Later- Adam & Comfort
