Well everyone, the giant X-Men poster is finally done! It took quite some time, but it was worth it. We only hope that Comfort has done her beloved X-Men justice in this image - they’re the reason she got into comics in the first place, thus they hold a very special place in her heart. Hopefully all you X-Fans out there dig this image as much as she dug making it :) Heroes: From L-R Pixy, Havok, Polaris, Multiple Man, Strong Guy, Psylock, White Queen, Bishop, Rogue, Gambit, Wolverine, Wolfsbane, Phoenix, Angel, Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, Nightcrawler, Storm, Colossus, Kitty Pryde, Jubilee, Banshee, M, Chamber, Rachel Summers, Thunderbird, Moonstar, Siryn, Cannonball, and X-23 Villains: L-R Magneto, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, Juggernaut, Mojo, Mr. Sinister, Mystique, Sentinels Mentors/Allies: R-L Professor X, Moira Mactaggert, Cable, Forge, Lilandra, Callisto, Val Cooper, Corsair

It was a good, long run, and full of hilarity and insight. Listen well: we’ve come here to praise Around Comics, not to bury them. L to R: Sal, Chris and TomWhen we started listening to AC, it was Chris Neeseman, Brion Salazar, Tom Katers, and Skottie Young; a bunch of zany guys sitting around a comic shop talking about… well, comics. And other stuff. They actually talked about a lot of other stuff. Part of what made AC so much fun to listen to was that it was so conversational - just a bunch of guys shooting the breeze for an hour or so about things that interested them. And they made it entertaining. Incredibly entertaining. We were hooked in almost immediately. They changed format a few times; they’d get more informational, they’d get more informal, they even started alternating informal episodes with more traditionally-organized talk radio style episodes. This setup was worth it for Skottie’s rants on Smallville alone. There was the great Club of the Month Club (best name ever) which took a new graphic novel, CD, and movie each month to examine in depth. Many a comics creator has been featured on Around Comics, and their interview style was as relaxed and casual as their recording style. The beauty was that it put the creators at ease, too (with the possible exception of the stalking of Greg Rucka), and what the listener got was a more intimate and revealing discussion than other interviews. And, what’s more than all this, AC gave us the Windy City Comic Con. This brilliant little convention was one of our favorites. Though its future is in question, most all of what we said about the Geek Speak Super Show holds true for the Windy City Con: a gathering of friends, colleagues, listeners, and neophytes all interested in and excited by the world of comic books. All that and Chicago sports. You can’t be around a group of Chicago boys without talking sports. So there you go. If you’ve never listened to Around Comics, they have a huge backlog of great episodes. It’s all still good, we assure you. You’ll laugh until your ankles hurt, somehow. These guys, these great, goofy, hilarious, nutballs, are part of what made the internet comic community great. Beyond being boosters of us and our little comic, they were just great people. We’re glad we got to meet them, we’re glad they left the archives of Around Comics behind, and we’ll miss their patter. Anybody coming to the Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) this month, the AC guys will be there for what they’re calling their “going away con.” Stop by and tell them we sent you. Later- Adam & Comfort
